The idea is that everyone who has this work can assemble the six panels in any way that suits their own taste and imagination. Munari and Valentinuzzi have thought of several possibilities. In this way the work becomes a mobile, creative object. The possibility of having two different subjects available is a further way of personalising the object. Why Missoni? The special graphic style of Missoni's texture bring together applied art and art for art's sake. The idea came about to allow a direct contact between the spectator and the art object. The spectator usually remain phisically apart from the work of art, but in this case he shares in an essential and even tactile manner in the final composition of the work. In this particular case, Missoni comes into people's houses and onto their walls, and isn't put away in a cupboard: it's something like the beginning of an era when art is not just for everyone, but also by everyone.
